A Celebration of Life Service was held for Lori in April, hosted by Lori's friends in central Texas.

Her classroom was right by my library at TAE. Sometimes she would come in the library or I’d stop in her room and before we would realize it, an hour would pass by and we would both have to hurry for our class that would be arriving. I had the best talks with her and she always spoke of her boys with total love. I’m so honored I had the privilege of working with her and being able to call her friend. She’s so missed.

Lori had a big heart!!! She loved her sons immensely and was so excited about having a grandbaby! She talked about looking forward to spending time together with her son, Sam and his family. She was also a dedicated teacher wanting the best for her students. I worked with her in Salado and saw, as well as heard, how much she cared for fellow co-workers and students.
I am thankful for the time I got to know her. I'm thankful she knew HIM. Though she will be missed, I know she is well with Him. My prayers are with her family.

Two of my children were fortunate to have Lori as their teacher. I loved working with her as home room mom. She was the most thoughtful and loving individual, always doing her very best to reach each student. She was a joy to be around❤️.

Lori and I had sons went to school together. We knew each other but the time I worked with her at TAE in the Reading Lab was when our friendship evolved. She taught me so much in the time I spent with her on the foundations of phonics and reading. We shared many classrooms over the years and seemed like we moved each year. We sat across from each other and could hear the many stories the students would share at our tables. Some made us laugh and some made us cry. Sometimes what we attempted to teach the students they in turn taught us. She had compassion and a love for each of her students. She strived to make them be their best. But her biggest love was her two boys Sam and Tyler. We shared funny stories about our boys almost daily and even the not so funny ones. At the beginning of the school year, I had just finished work and was walking to my car and I saw her driving in the parking lot. I couldn't believe my eyes! We chatted for a few minutes and if you know Lori she is very difficult to part from. She had a way of drawing you into a conversation that would linger on. But not that day, I think Tyler was picking up dinner for them. We promised to make plans to meet and catch up on all the latest; unfortunately, that never happened. I will miss you my friend. This year I acquired many of your possessions because I inherited your classroom for a brief moment. LOL!! You know how quick things change on campus. I think God has a sense of humor and knew that I would appreciate and be reminded daily of you and how my position at TAE was greatly influenced by you. Thank you for being my friend and mentor without you I would not be doing this today. Love you my friend!
